NEURON v 2.0 is the ultimate tool in Neural Drive “mind-to-muscle” sports nutrition formulations.  This balanced and synergistic combination of products acts to optimize muscular power output, improve agility, and delay nervous fatigue.  This is due to its role involving motor unit activation of muscle fibers and subsequent muscle contraction, and to its ability to enhance mental focus and speed. NEURON v2.0 provides proper doses of a combination of nutrients and co-factors which are normally depleted during intense exercise.  As a consequence, we have removed the limiting factors in the formation of endogenous substrates which limit fatigue, improve strength, and increase speed. NEURON v 2.0 provides an immediate supply of these nutrients in the blood stream so optimal performance is ensured. ABOUT NEURON V2.0 INGREDIENTS* Acetyl L-Carnitine (ALCAR) ALCAR supports healthy mental functions in three significant ways. First, it enhances nerve cell function by providing acetyl groups for synthesis of the neurotransmitter acetylcholine (along with helping to promote its release). Secondly, it provides antioxidant protection and promotes cellular energy production. Thirdly, acetyl-L-carnitine also helps increase cerebral blood flow and prevent damage that can occur to nerve cells when there is a lack of oxygen in the brain, such as in the case of extreme anaerobic exercise and val salva lifting. Alpha-GPC Alpha-GPC (alpha glycerylphosphorylcholine) is a precursor to the neurotransmitter acetylcholine and is naturally present in all of the body’s cells. By activating cholinergic transmission, alpha-GPC promotes the production of strength from work-outs. This concept is often referred to as neural drive. Additionally, it improves balance and coordination when combined with skill set training as a result of normalized nerve transmission in cardiac, skeletal and smooth muscles – as well as in the brain. Proper acetylcholine function is essential to muscle control, sleep, and cognition. Alpha-GPC plays a key role in both the synthesis and the catabolic recycling of phospholipids. Alpha-GPC supplementation may result in enhanced phospholipid synthesis, including synthesis of the phosphoinositides available for signal transduction at the central nervous system level. Alpha-GPC also acts synergistically with the body’s store (and/or supplementation) of S-adenosyl-L-methionine (SAM or SAMe), folic acid, vitamin B12, and vitamin B6 to facilitate methyl group transfers in the brain and liver. Tyrosine L-tyrosine is an amino acid precursor for synthesis of the neurotransmitters norepinephrine and dopamine. Tyrosine has been demonstrated in research studies to heighten mental alertness, increase feelings of well being, decrease feelings of depression, and offset physical and mental fatigue. One of the mechanisms possibly contributing to fatigue during exercise is an increase in central serotonin levels and an increase in the ratio of serotonin to dopamine. Tyrosine may help decrease this ratio and compete with tryptophan (the amino acid precursor to serotonin) at the blood-brain barrier. Increased dopaminergic activity may decrease the perception of fatigue. Also, during highly stressful conditions catecholamine levels can become depleted; and tyrosine may be particularly useful under these conditions. Teacrine Teacrine is similar in structure to caffeine and works synergistically with caffeine both to amplify the effect and manage the potential jitters and crash from caffeine. Teacrine multi-faceted effects come from the synergistic reactions between two neural pathways: dopaminergic and adenosinergic pathways. By affecting these pathways, Teacrine accelerates metabolism, increases energy production, and enables you to better your physical and mental performance.

  • Dopaminergic Activity

Specific Teacrine doses activate dopaminergic receptors D1 and D2. Research clearly demonstrates that high dopamine levels result in a surge of energy, improved mood, increased motivation and greater mental focus and clarity.

  • Adenosinergic Activity

In addition to boosting dopamine levels, Teacrine is also thought to inhibit the production of adenosine. This inhibits the biochemical processes that promote sedation and relaxation. By doing so, it further reduces your perception of fatigue. Noopept One of the first of its kind, Noopept is a highly effective cognitive enhancing smart peptide-derived compound (nootropic). Multiple studies have proven the effective ability of Noopept to not only serve as a neuroprotective agent but also that it has neurologically enhancing properties. Several similar studies with Noopept in preclinical models followed, showing similar efficacious cognitive improvements from learning processes to helping maintain levelheadedness. Furthermore, studies have reported that vinpocetine may improve glucose use by the brain, particularly in hypoxic conditions. Huperzine A Many studies indicate that Huperzine A is a superior acetylcholinesterase (AChE) inhibitor with excellent penetration into the CNS and a remarkable in vivo half-life. In addition to its activity as an AChE inhibitor, recent findings suggest that Huperzine A has other neural protective functions. First, Huperzine A inhibits glutamate-induced cytotoxicity and secondly, it promotes dendrite outgrowth. All of which are essential to maximizing mind-muscle connections and motor learning. Pantothenic Acid Pantothenic Acid is needed for the conversion of choline to acetylcholine. This can be a rate-limiting step, and with B vitamin deficiency being so wide spread, its importance in any neuro-cocktail cannot be overstated. This nutrient also plays an essential role in rejuvenating the adrenal glands, preventing stimulant burnout and overtraining. Caffeine NeurON 2.0 contains 150mg of caffeine. When combined with all the other ingredients we have found this dose to be optimal. Although this is a moderate dose by pre-workout standards, it works synergistically with the other ingredients in the product.
